Goodbye Dear Friend (but not really)

Laughing to the sideDo you have a friend whom you may not see for a bit, but then whenever you do, you just pick up where you left off? A person that you have always admired? Someone that lifts you up when you see them? The kind of person that leaves you feeling energised after speaking with them? Someone who is always trying to make the world a little bit better? Those kinds of friends are pretty wonderful.

It’s even more wonderful when you get the opportunity to build something you care about with a friend like that. Sarah and I have been friends for a long time. Some years we have been close and other years our lives have taken us on very different paths.  When we both fell pregnant at around the same time, we once again found ourselves on a similar journey.

Our babies were born within a few days of each other and we found ourselves thinking about similar things. And we shared those thoughts with you when we started this online space together.

We truly believe that we can be both mummy and minx. Bold, confident and independent women as well as caring, nurturing, thoughtful mothers.  Part of being bold and confident is knowing what works in your life at any given moment and having the courage to let go of things that don’t. Part of being caring and nurturing mothers is to realise that sometimes, some thing has to give. So, it’s with sadness that I say good-bye to Sarah as co-author of this blog, but also understanding and admiration. I know how very full her life currently is and I know that her priorities must be with her gorgeous family.

I also know that no matter what happens, our friendship will remain. Even if circumstances mean that we spend less time together, I know that when we do catch up, we will pick up exactly where we left off. Because that’s the kind of friend she is.

So, what does the future hold for the Mummy and the Minx? Lots of exciting things! I have big plans for this little corner of the internet and I hope you will continue be a part of them.

And if you are jonesing for a little Sarah magic, her beautiful posts are still here for the reading.  These are some of my all-time favourites:
