Whirlpool Crisp N’ Grill Microwave Review and Recipe

This post was made possible by the kind gift of a Whirlpool Crisp N’ Grill Microwave to test and review.

Whirlpool Crisp and Grill Review and Spanakopita recipe

We are into week five of my new working arrangements and it’s all going swimmingly. I relish the two days with my littlest and I look forward to the three days in the office. I really look forward to weekends which are no longer dedicated to catch-up consulting work. Although, at least of part of Sunday is dedicated to cooking and baking. Out of necessity, I have become a meal-planning, lunch-box prepping mum. Thankfully my organised side is relishing it. Our desperately-in-need-of-a-service oven is not.

In a kismet moment, I was offered a Whirlpool Crisp N’ Grill Microwave to test and review. This speedy-oven-in-disguise microwave has graced our kitchen at just the right time.  Read more

Little Tanning Dress – A Review (+ discount for readers)

Like so many great ideas, Little Tanning Dress started out of necessity. Busy boutique owner, Brooke Jones, needed to have something fashionable she could wear to her tanning appointments and in her store. But there was nothing on the market that would preserve her tan and her style. So she created the Little Tanning Dress. A stylish black dress made from a polyester/spandex blend that doesn’t blot or absorb tanning products. As an added bonus it doesn’t crease either.

Craft for the Soul: A Book Review

Craft for the Soul

Pip’s gorgeous book, Craft for the Soul, defies pidgeon-holing. It’s not a craft project book, although it contains beautiful things to create. It’s not a recipe book, despite being filled with yummy food. It’s not a self-help book, but it is filled with excellent, practical advice on living a creative and inspired life.

Perhaps rather than trying to allocate the book an ISBN, I should tell you about how it feels.  It feels like a cosy chat with a wonderful friend. Someone wise and generous with their ideas and experience. Pip’s book is filled with realistic advice delivered in her cheery voice. She doesn’t pretend it’s all sunshine and rainbows but she does encourage a positive attitude. More than that, she gives you ways to make that kind of life happen.  Read more

Make your wardrobe work and play with Philosophy Fashion

Making your wardrobe

Philosophy Fashion Australia generously gifted the clothing in this post.

When I worked full-time in a conservative office my clothing choices seemed easier.  A pencil skirt or tailored pant, a button-down shirt, killer heels and discrete jewellery. My weekend wardrobe was relaxed and casual. My party pieces were fun, short and generally bejewelled. Needless to say, these three separate wardrobes seldom hung out together. My different identities were neatly compartmentalised and so was my closet.

After having children, those identities became muddled. A different lifestyle (less party, more park), working from home (less pencil skirts, more PJ pants), children (less ironing, more stain tolerance) and suddenly my wardrobe needed to behave differently. I don’t have three separate wardrobes anymore. Closet space is at a premium and every piece of clothing taking up room needs to pay rent. I want pieces that I can wear in different ways for different occasions.  And I love it when brands understand that. One such brand is Philosophy Fashion Australia.  Read more
